I am planning to buy a digital camera, my budget is limited to Rs. 15000 / - . Which one is best to buy ?

Go for OLYMPUS or CANON

Answer by chinni on 02 Jan 2010 07:27:39

A panoramic camera is a specialized piece of equipment that is really only used to take extremely wide shots. A good example is the old Widelux. I don't know of any true panoramic cameras that are Digital -- you would need a sensor that was 3 to 5 inches wide.

As far as editing, your best bet is to use your computer. Trying to edit a photograph with a camera is tedious and you will never be able to do a good a job as you can with a good editing program like Photoshop.

As for the best Digital Camera below $15,000. Well, with the exception of Hasselblad, all of them are below $15,000.

Answer by Regi V on 02 Jan 2010 08:52:26

Buying a camera is personal. You need to know what features you like and what functions you want. It is like buying a new pair of shoes ;) As another reader answered, you can't go wrong with any of the top name brands such as Nikon, Canon or Olympus.

Go to [URL Truncated] or other Digital photography websites to compare different camera's and their features and functionalities then decide.

I hope this helps, good luck.

Answer by niks on 02 Jan 2010 08:45:16

Without a doubt either one will give you very good image quality. But for the same price as the 620 you can buy on line at Buydig $159+shipping the Fuji S1500. The Fuji will let you adjust shutter speed or aperture which can be a big help in shooting photos. I guess I'm just spoiled. I would not buy any point and shoot without it having aperture/shutter priority. Nor would I buy any camera without a viewfinder. The Fuji is 12X optical zoom, 10 megapixels.
A good Website to view cameras is dpreview.com go to left side of page to camera database.
PS you won't see any difference between 10 and 12 megapixels.

Answer by Vintage Music on 02 Jan 2010 08:50:06

I can't understand why anyone would buy a camera without a view finder. I wouldn't even consider these two.

How do you find out how many images have been taken on a Canon 30D?

I am talking about the total shot count of the body, and not the picture count from a CF card. Also, what is the usual life of the body, in terms of shot count.

I need to know, because I think mine has reached it's limit and needs a tune-up.

Thanks!

Do you mean the file numbering count? Did you get an error message on your screen? If so what is it?

Check out page 29 and then page 70 of your user's manual to see if this is what you are looking for. If you don't have then manual, click on this link for a PDF version of your camera's manual.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

Best Answer

Modern DSLRs don't usually need a "tune-up." Your shutter should be rated for about 50,000 cycles but, there's no set "limit." I've seen 30Ds in service with far more than 50,000 cycles on their shutters. The only tool I know of that might give you a shutter count is a Windows app called EOSInfo ([URL Truncated] which was originally written for the later 40D. I've never tried the utility on anything but my 40D so I don't know if it supports the 30D.

If the utility above doesn't work, you will need to send the camera to Canon to get an actual shutter count. For what it's worth, it is possible your shutter has failed if it has more than 50,000 cycles on it. Replacement again requires a trip to Canon. Last I heard, a shutter replacement for an out of warranty 30D costs $300-$350 with parts and labor (the shutter itself only costs about $40). It's worth noting you can probably buy a low shutter count 30D for about the same price.

My Camera (or memory card) keeps deleting my pictures out of nowhere. What's The Problem?

I got a new Kodak M340 Camera On Dec 12. I Dropped It On The Floor & Ever Since Then It Deletes Pictures Out Of Nowhere. On My Comp. It Says There Is 1GB Used. But It Doesnt Show Any Pictures. I Dont Know If Its The Camera Or The Memory Card Which Is SanDisk 2GB!

Best Answer

I have never heard of that problem before, but it is adding to my strong dislike of Kodak cameras.

I have no idea if this will help, but I would start by formatting the card in the camera. That is something you should do on a regular basis, anyway.
I'd also try out a different card to try and isolate the problem.

Good luck with it.

How do I post a picture on Ebay using a Kodak camera with Easyshare software?

I am used to using a Sony Mavica, and all I had to do was put the floppy disc in with the pictures on it, and Ebay did all the rest. Now, even though Kodak advertises it to be easy, I cannot seem to get the pictures where Ebay will retreive them even after dragging them into the "tray". Thanks for your help!
If I don't use the Easyshare software program, how do I store my pictures?

Ugh..... Kodak :-(
I couldn't possibly be bothered to struggle with their software, even if I ever did have one of their cameras.

I would just use my card reader to transfer the photos to the computer, then upload them to ebay the standard way.

Answer by selina_555 on 01 Jan 2010 07:36:13

Kodak is the leader in inexpensive cameras.

The easiest way would be to put the memory card into a card reader.

Answer by Madame W on 03 Jan 2010 03:16:59

If you insist on using the Easyshare software for photos, then the easiest way is to open both Easyshare and your "my pictures" folder. Put the pics you want in the tray on Easyshare, then click and drag them into the "my pictures" folder. It's that easy, and that is how i do it.

You asked this very same question at least twice...... why?

You have a little P&S camera, so what can you do with two SLR lenses? You could sell them, or use them as paper weights or as very bad frisbees. You won't be able to use them on your little camera.

Which Camera is the best - Nikon Coolpix S630 or Canon SX200IS? Does Nikon Coolpix S630 have wide angle mode?

Best Answer

I would recommend you to go with Canon PowerShot SX200IS it will give you a better quality picture and also a HD video recording
12.1-megapixel CCD captures enough detail for photo-quality poster-size prints
12x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilizer; 28mm wide-angle lens
HD movie shooting capability plus HDMI output

Nikon Coolpix S630 supports 7x optical Zoom-Nikkor (37-260mm) glass lens.

Nikon Coolpix S630

Answer by Elin Sing on 01 Jan 2010 08:54:23

Nikon Coolpix S630 : 12MP, 7x optical Zoom, 2.7-inch high-resolution LCD screen, 4-Way VR Image Stabilization, Scene Auto Selector, Nikon's Smart Portrait System (Red-Eye Fix, Enhanced Face-Priority AF, Smile Mode automatically, NEW Blink Proof enables), etc.
[URL Truncated]

Canon PowerShot SX200IS : 12 MP, 12x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom, 3.0-inch LCD, HD movie shooting capability, Blink Detection, Face Detection, Intelligent Contrast Correction, Red-eye Correction, etc.
[URL Truncated]

The result compare Canon PowerShot SX200IS is better because have more Optical Zoom (12x), and more LCD screen (3 inch) and PowerShot SX200IS has feature HD movie shooting capability but PowerShot SX200IS is expensive than Nikon Coolpix S630.

Answer by Robert M on 01 Jan 2010 07:10:00

Both are excellent cameras and brands but if the wide angle is of key interest then the Canon SX200IS has more wide angle than the Nikon Coolpix S630. The Canon goes to 28mm where as the Nikon only goes to 37mm.

Below I listed some links, the first one is to a web page that has a side by side listing of the 2 cameras and it will be good to use to compare features and specs. Also, I added some photo dealer websites, and 2 of them, B&H Photo and Adorama has customer reviews of many items which may help.

Hope this helps.

Making Pictures Look Better.............?

I have a small picture in my email, is there a way that I can make it bigger and not lose quality. Thanks.

No. Larger to smaller yes, smaller to larger no.

Answer by Jim A on 01 Jan 2010 10:21:51
Best Answer

Yes, you can force an image to become bigger, but it will look terrible.

Upsizing is always an act of desperation. Even with the best of programs it isn't an ideal solution.
Photoshop will let you do it to an extent, in small increments.
Genuine Fractals ($160) will do a better job but still has limits.

None of them can perform miracles, computers aren't very good at inventing pixels that weren't there in the first place.

Answer by selina_555 on 01 Jan 2010 07:23:00

No. Contrary to what you see in TV or the movies, it is not possible.

Poll: Nikon D70 VS. Canon Rebel xs?

* I'm new to DSLR's
I have a Nikon D70 my dad gave me, but I don't understand how to use it even when I use the Manual. I prefer Canon's anyway, so I'm wondering, which is the better camera?
I would like it if you had experience with both of them or input how strongly you feel about either one.

In general I think Canon's are easier to use, in the store when they're on the display, the functions seem more natural to me, but when I'm trying to figure out the D70, it doesn't make sense. If the Nikon is a better camera then I guess I'll have to make due and put more effort in trying to figure it out, but if the Canon is better, should I buy it?

Thanks so much by the way, if you're a photographer or artist and have a portfolio online, please leave the link. I love seeing other people's work.

CANON always

Answer by xxookitten on 03 Jan 2010 03:48:20

The Canon won't be any easier to use than the Nikon. They work the same way, except Nikon zoom rings turn exactly opposite of Canon. Other than that, manual mode is manual mode, green box auto works just the same.

The Rebel XS is a much newer camera with more bells and whistles, but not drastically better in any way than the D70.

Answer by Caoedhen on 03 Jan 2010 03:49:58

It is up to you. Both cameras are used by both the pros and those starting to use cameras.

There is a good reason to stick with the fine D70. Your not knowing how to use it, just means you need to learn how to use a fully adjustable camera

Why you prefer Canon DSLR's over Nikon DSLR's is a mystery, since if you had the skills necessary to use a Canon, you would have NO problem using the D70.

Adjusting the shutter speed or aperture on ANY camera is relatively easy, so I guess we need to know why you think a Canon is easier to use, unless you have years of experience using Canon SLR's, but by the tone of your question you have very little experience using any SLR.

If you take some time and actually use the users manual, it will soon be come clear how to use it.

The other reason to stick with your D70, is that your dad may have additional lenses you can use that you will not have to buy.

There is one feature that only two other camera models have ... that is the ability to use higher shutter speeds when syncing flash. The other two are the Nikon D40 and Canon original EOS 1D.

That said, if you ever plan on shooting outdoors with flash (sports and fashion), that will be a great feature.

I would suggest that before you spend a dime on either Nikon or Canon gear, you take a class in photography and learn the basics of photography. Taking the time to get a perfect exposure and learning how to compose amazing images before you press the shutter release, will provide you with the skills you need no matter what camera system you eventually pick

Too many people are buying DSLR's and expecting them to perform like a simple P&S camera, a camera the rarely requires the user to engage their brain before using it. Not that that is a bad thing if the user does not want to have to learn all about photography, but just want to capture family events and crazy shots of their friends. But when you start buying cameras designed for use by professional photographers, you have to be willing to take the time to learn how to use them at some level of competency

Just don't be in a big hurry to make your choice. You have the D70 so "date" is a while and learn how to use all its features. Those skills will be completely transferable to any camera you later own, Nikon or Canon or any other.

There is a link on my profile here you can check out if you like. It is all fashion stuff.

Answer by fhotoace on 03 Jan 2010 04:10:47

I think Olympus is easier to use and both Canon and Nikon are needlessly complicated. You think Canon is better for you then Canon is the way to go. You're the one using it so you're the one that has to see what you feel comfortable with. If you can't figure out how to turn it on or there's lights flashing at you, doesn't matter how good the camera is, you'll never get a shot out of it that way.

In the world of photography, you're either a Canon person or a Nikon person. The rest [Olympus, Sony, Pentax, etc] all just fall into a sad league of their own that I won't even bother mentioning. I myself am a Nikon person, and you're going to get the opinion of a Nikon person-- as biased as it is.

The Canon will *not* be any easier to use than the Nikon, most DSLRs are exactly the same, though the capabilities of each camera is limited by software. Canon tends to release a new DSLR after Nikon does with one or two more 'features' on it-- that don't really do the camera any good.

The only real differences between the two are body weight. zoom rotation, and that the D70 has well over 20 more personalized features than Canon does. Stick with what you have and upgrade as you go along.

If you want to learn how to use your camera use the wonderful world of the internet, there are literally hundreds of how-to websites on DSLRs.

First of all, do not save any new file to camer's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.

Download recover software asoftech photo recovery. Install and open asoftech photo recovery, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Is it "cool" ? Probably not. But then again, I'm too old to do things to look cool. But as a long time photographer, I usually have a camera with me unless it's raining. Unless you're interested in photography, I wouldn't carry it around.

Answer by Carl_the_Truth on 03 Jan 2010 12:12:43

Girls just seem more likely to take hundreds of pointless photos. Snapfish says they're demographic is mostly female. A strange thing I've noticed lately is most hobby photographers are either psychologist or engineers. Just to clear up your theory getting pictures of your friends is cool for teenage girls. Arguing over silly mechanics and occasionally getting great art pictures is cool for grown men.

If your a guy asking if it's OK for you to take your camera around. go for it. While the other guys are slamin' bruskies you'll be on your way to making millions and getting famous as a great photographer.

Answer by AndrewM on 03 Jan 2010 12:44:12

The girls usually have purses, so they can have the camera in there with their other stuff. Guys can make more use of belt pouches. I'm not sure about the coolness of having multiple belt pouches.

Answer by thankyoumaskedman on 03 Jan 2010 01:23:46

digital camera zoom question?

is it possible to take a good picture of the moon and all its detail with a stand Digital Camera not a slr

Possible, that a point and shoot Digital Camera could get a good picture of the moon. It would help if the camera had a high telephoto range with its zoom lens, a meter that would not be tricked by the bright moon and very dark sky, then had a photographer who knows know to handle a camera some.

Answer by Mark on 02 Jan 2010 05:43:14

Sure, with a few caveats. If you want to see what you can do, google "digiscoping" and then click on the "photos" link.

Answer by Caoedhen on 02 Jan 2010 05:57:57
Best Answer

Most of the details will be preserved. The problem with the smaller simpler lenses of compact cameras is that they tend to be prone to chromatic abberations, so particularly with bright objects you'll notice that one side has a red border and the other side a purple border.

But since it's the moon you can just correct to grayscale and all will be fine.

Importing pictures from my Canon SX110 IS?

I have the usb cord and everything but when I try downloading the pictures nothing appears. Please help. Thanks!

Best Answer

The easiest and best method to download photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are quite cheap these days).

Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card.

Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice.

Should I invest in a Nikkor AF-S DX18-200mm VR lens for my D5000, or a Nikkor AF-S DX 55-200mm VR lens?

I have been looking to invest in a better lens than the regular 18-55mm kit lens that my Nikon D5000 came in with. I don't need any large telephoto lens or a landscape lens, just anything that's a step above the kit lens for everyday use. Based on the cost of these two lenses, and the fact that I already have a 18-55mm lens, which would be the most beneficial and more efficient for my needs?

Best Answer

I used to have the Canon equivalent to all of these lenses. At first I had the 18-55 and the 55-250.
While this was a good set up, I got tried of having to constantly switch lenses. It finally boiled down to a trip I took and I realized I needed to pick only 1 lens to take.
So....I went out and bought the 18-200 and never looked back. Sold the 18-55 and the 55-250 on craigslist. In my opinion there is no better "walk around' lens than the 18-200mm. Covers a plenty wide range for both wide angle and zoom, and you don't have to constantly swap lenses, increasing the chance of dust/dirt entering your camera each time you do.
Good luck

Answer by auwes on 02 Jan 2010 11:42:21

I agree the 18-200 is the choice. Very versatile.

Answer by Jim A on 02 Jan 2010 11:57:23

Neither of those lenses is "better" in terms of image quality. The kit lens, the 55-200, and the 18-200 are all great lenses. It depends on your needs. Do you see yourself using from wide to telephoto in the same shoot frequently? Is the convenience the complete distance in one lens worth around $400 compared to the two lens option? If so, that is your lens.

Also consider the D90 kit lenses. New, they are under $400, and are even cheaper if you get them gently used. Here are the Amazon links, but look on KEH and Adorama as well:

18-135mm lens

Finally, you might consider the AF-S 70-300mm lens. This gets you further out, but leaves a gap between 55-70mm, which is nothing a few steps forward or backward won't fix

Answer by Zach L on 03 Jan 2010 12:15:04

If you already have Nikon 18-55mm, I would recommend save your money and get Nikon 55-200mm VR lens unless you don't want to take 2 lens with you then Nikon 18-200mm is a good walk around lens for both wide and zoom in one lens.
[URL Truncated]

Answer by PS on 03 Jan 2010 01:14:57

dump the lens you have, and avoid the 55 200. You have an entry level body, and you are probably a more casual shooter that most likely will never attach a 2 thousand dollar lens to your body. Get one lens to do the job like the 18-200mm and be done with it. Trust me when I say you are not going to want to lug around two lenses and make lens changes when you could be missing a shot.

The 18-200mm isn't the best lens in the world, and it's not a low-light champ, but in most situations it's the best solution. When you need something for low light, grab a cheap 50mm f/1.8 it's sharper and better for low light, smaller and lighter than any zoom.

Answer by Sound Labs on 03 Jan 2010 01:49:58

If you dislike changing lenses, and like traveling light then I would get the 18-200mm zoom.

Just to throw it out there, there are respected independent lens makers like Tamron and Sigma and you may want to see what they have to offer? Through the years I have used Nikon but also some Sigma and Tamron lenses which worked just fine for me. I have seen that both have a 18-250mm zoom lens - the last link below is to a page on B&H Photo to the Tamron 18-250mm and there are cutomers reviews of it.

I listed links to the Tamron and Sigma websites in case you want to check them out and also some photo dealers to check prices.

Also, the D5000 along with the D3000, D40, D40x, D60 need to have lenses that have the auto focus motor in the lens to have full function (ie auto focus ability) so keep that in mind when bying your lens.

Hope this helps.

Is $300.00 for a nikon D50 a good deal?

Anybody have any input on how good of a camera this model is,and, what to look for in a used camera? Also, thankyou everybody for your replies, and AHappy New Year to all!

No. i've recently purchased a nikon L20 coolpix camera and i love it. The screen is nice and big, and the pics come out crystal clear...it's simple and easy to use! i purchased it for about $95 at best buy, it's definitly the best camera i've ever bought. Hope i helped you out!!!

If you want a DSLR then $300 sounds good to me, that is if it is including a lens. If not then you are going to spend $50 to $100 for a short zoom then you possibly very close to the cost of a new DSLR with a lens.

Here is a quick list of what I have seen new or refurbished recently:

-Olympus E-520 10.1MP Digital SLR with 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 Zuiko Digital Lens - $424 (new - at BuyDig.com)

-Olympus E-520 SLR Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm Lens - $419 (new at B&H Photo)

-Sony Alpha A230 Digital SLR with 18-55mm Lens - $429 (new at B&H Photo)

-Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR Camera w/EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens - $370
(Refurbished at Adorama)

Canon Digital Rebel XTi SLR Camera w/EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Lens - $400 (Refurbished at Adorama)

Below I listed links to photo dealers, all but buydig, sell used as well as new. Adorama sells refurbished DSLR cameras also. So shop around, the Nikon D50 is excellent and it has a lens at $300 then that sounds great.

Hope this helps.

Answer by Mark on 04 Jan 2010 03:07:40

If the camera is complete, with all cables/manuals/battery/charger AND the 18-55 kit lens it came with, and of course in operating condition, then that is not a bad deal.

If any parts, including the lens, are missing, or the camera has any issues other than cosmetic on the exterior, then it is not worth getting.

The D50 was not a bad camera in it's day, replaced by the D40. It was Nikon's first real attempt at dumbing down the camera and feature set to get a lower price. It lacks a backlight for the status screen and the on-board flash controller of the D70 has been removed. It does, however, have an in-body focus motor.

what is the difference between a 35mm, 50 mm, and 85mm lens? the mm means nothing to me.?

the measurements are referring to how much of the scene you can fit in the frame. bigger numbers are for closer shots, smaller numbers will fit more scenery into the frame.
For example, 35mm is great for landscapes, 85 would be good for portraits.

Answer by thanksapantsfull on 04 Jan 2010 04:16:08
Best Answer

If mm means nothing to you, you might want to take at least a beginning class in photography to get you up to speed. I would have thought that somewhere along the course of you education, the metric measuring system may have been mentioned

mm is the term abbreviation for millimeter, one thousandth of a meter and is a liner dimension.

If those lengths were in reference to a 35 mm camera, the 35 mm would be a moderate wide angle lens, the 50 mm would be a 'normal" lens and the 85 mm a moderate telephoto lens most closely associated with shooting portraits. If the cameras format is medium (120 film or 6 x 6 cm, etc), then the 35 mm lens would be an extreme wide angle, the 50 mm a wide angle and the 85 mm close to a normal lens. So you see, the measurement of a lens in portions of a meter describe the type lens it is if you know the format of the sensor or film it is designed to be used with.

Answer by fhotoace on 04 Jan 2010 04:20:14

The 50mm sees basically basically the way the eye does. Compare other lens to it (use the 50mm as a reference point). So with that set, the 35mm would be a wider view and the 85mm would provide a view that is more narrow in view and closer.

Below is a quick visual example I came across.

Hope this helps.

What's better, Nikon or Canon?

Reasons, and their top cameras, (ex. Nikon D500, Canon Rebel etc.)
*Nikon D5000
my bad.

Best Answer

Both are best ... it depends upon what kind of subjects you shoot and with system has the lenses and camera bodies needed to shoot them.

Nikon has been supplying professional cameras since 1959 and Canon since 1988.

Nikon does not have a D500. Its top selling pro camera is the D3 and best studio camera is the D3x
Canon makes a 500D, but it is an entry level camera. Canon's top camera is the 1Ds, Mark III

All you are going to get is a bunch of loyalist opinions about which camera is best, not much in the way of valuable information

Here is how you can determine which one is best for you.

First look on the Nikon and Canon websites and see which camera bodies have the features you need to shoot your assignments.

[URL Truncated]

[URL Truncated]

If these sites are too technical for you, go into a camera store and hold a Nikon D5000 and Canon 500D in your hands and see which feels best to you.

Perhaps more important though, see which cameras menu is the easiest for you to use to make changes in ISO, camera resolution, white balance, mode switching and make EV changes (a camera with +5/-5 EV could be important to you).

Finally, take an SD card with you and test each camera at their highest and lowest ISO as well as when using the white balance that matches the light in the store as well as with it in the "auto white balance" mode.

Once you get home and are able to see the results on your large computer monitor, you will know which camera is better for your needs and expectations, not ours.

Take your time before you decide. Once you choose one, you will be married to that system for decades and the cost of changing to the other system will cost you nearly as much as a divorce.
Be sure to take your time. If unsure, go back and do more tests until you are convinced which system is best for you

Answer by fhotoace on 04 Jan 2010 05:45:58

God give me strength...

Nikon and Canon are as good as each other. Nikon is a camera specialist, while Canon is an electronic giant.

Nikon + Canon = 75% market share of high end cameras. Roughly equal between the two.

They are made differently and handled differently and their result is slightly different as well. But that doesn't mean one is better than the other, because one person would say Nikon is better while the other one says Canon.

That's why the two company can be the top two, and not one just stamp out the other and monopolize the market.

Why wont my Olympus digital camera load anymore photos?

My Olympus camera has a 2MB xD card and ive used probably just under 1 MB of it, so its not full. But all of a sudden I loaded my pictures on to my computer ike normal and it just won't load them! The cords fine, cameras fine what could be wrong with it?

Best Answer

Format the card inside the camera - not in the computer. If the card is working properly this will take care of the problem.

However, don't load photos back onto the card, it's not designed as a storage device and could easily fail if you treat it this way.

Answer by Jim A on 05 Jan 2010 08:04:39

for the purposes of this answer, Canon EOS 1000D - Canon XS (for you American's out there)

No, you can't shoot video on the 1000D (or the XSi - 450D)

You can also move to the EOS professional series, and then your options are 7d or 5dm2

if 128mb can shoot 3 min then apply it to the 16000mb/16gb. theres 125 of 128 mb in 16gb. multiply that by 3 (min) u get 375 min or 6 hours and 25 minutes.

Answer by anne on 05 Jan 2010 08:25:43
Best Answer

Make sure your camera accepts SDHC (Secure Digital - High Capacity) before you invest on a SD card over 4GB.

The camera's megapixels are not relevant in determining video-recording time, as it does not use the full resolution to record video. The video mode should have several settings for the resolution you'd like to shoot in, and it's generally correlated to the framerate it records at (the higher the resolution, the lower the frame rate). Also keep in mind sometimes each individual video clip length can be capped (usually at 30min). This simply means you'd have to click record again.

Provide camera model, and we'd gladly look into it for you.

PS: I don't think the 128mb into 16gb calculation works, as the numbers don't translate directly into the available size. So even percentage-wise, for the 128 it may be 20% less space, while on the 16GB it would be something like 5% less.

Answer by Romanu on 05 Jan 2010 08:34:26

at TV quality 1 gig of memory is 15 minutes... at 640x480...

Answer by fivetoze on 05 Jan 2010 11:25:04

First be sure your camera can handle 16 GB. Some older ones max at 2GB. If it will take 16GB then you can probably record until your battery is dead before you run out of memory.

Answer by paulj0557-vacuum cleaner expert on 05 Jan 2010 03:23:44

It all depends on what quality you use and what not. Regardless I would suggest getting a 4gb card, because they are cheaper, and unless you want to record 2 hours of constant video, you should be fine. When you need space just copy the stuff to your computer and delete it off. I've had a 1gb card for years now and still haven't filled it up...
