Canon Powershot A480?

I got one a few weeks ago. I know how to make the colors change to black and white and sepia and whatnot. The problem is that my camera doesn't give me the option. When I hit the function/settings button and scroll down it only lets me go to the first one and the last 2. It doesn't even scroll to the one where I can change the colors. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

I bet your user manual would tell you exactly how to do it. Those things are really worthwhile reading.
I assume you're just in the wrong mode for those options.

However, please consider this about applying any sort of effect in camera: DON'T DO IT !

Imagine if you just happen to take the best photo you ever took - surely you would want to have it in all its glory, right?

Always set your camera to biggest size, best quality (and to color).

That way, you start with the best possible photo as your original.

Then you make a copy and edit it to your heart's content.
You have much better control over any editing on your computer, even something as simple as b&w will look MUCH better when it was processed properly instead of in camera.
You can do all sorts of things to it PLUS you get to keep your original.

The only 'fix it', is for you to read the User Guide that came with your camera. The reason you can't access the colour options is because you have the camera in AUTO shooting mode.

So, get out of Auto and change it to P (Program AE) instead. You will now have access.

p.s. Check out the very handy...'Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode' chart near the back of the manual (pages 116-117). It shows you at a glance, what functions you can use in each particular shooting mode. Refer to it everytime you're not sure of what works where.
