This is a little question for people who own or have used this lens. Are you pleased with it, or do you think it could do better? Seems like a good range for general purpose, but I'd like to know about its image quality.
If you know of any other lenses that could give me better results but for the same price or less, please let me know.

Popular Photography magazine gave it a good review. It's a general purpose lens. If you're starting out with your camera, this lens alone will cover most your needs--for now.
